REPORTE DE PESCA. SEPTIEMBRE

Cordialmente;

FISHING REPORT - SEPTEMBER.

ZIHUATANEJO BECAME A HEAVEN FOR ROOSTERS, THE KING OF THE INSHORE DIVISION, STRONG AND A REAL CHALLENGE ON LIGHT TACKLE; YOU WILL APPRECIATE THE STRENGTH AND BEAUTY OF THIS FISH WHICH BECAME VERY POPULAR FOR FLY FISHERMEN. IT IS NOT ONLY ABOUT THE FIRIOUS FIGHT THAT A 55 POUNDS ROOSTER PRESENT ON YOUR CASTING TACKE, BUT THE WHOLE ENVORIMENT, YOU ARE REALLY GETTING INTO THE UNTAMED KINGDOM OF THIS BEAST, WHERE YOU SEE NOTHING BUT HUGE NOISY WAVES CRASHING ON THE ROCK AND SUDDENLY MILES AND MILES OF LONELY BEACHS AND TROPICAL LUSH, MOST TIMES EVEN WHEN TIDE IS CALM, SUDDENLY A HUGE WAVE BRINGS ADRENALIN TO CARDIAC LEVELS, EVEN THE MOST EXPERIMENTED HAVE BEEN CAUGHT WITH DIFFERENT LEVEL OF DAMAGES, FLYING ON THE TOP OF THE WAVE OR PASSING THRU IT WILL SURELY MAKE A MARK ON WAY YOU SEE LIFE, DOESN’T HAPPENED EVERY DAY BUT YOU KNOW IT COULD HAPPENED TODAY. MAENWHILE YOU ARE THERE, THE BOAT KEEPS GOING ALONG THE BEACH, ADOLFO IS LOOKING FOR SIGNALS, THERE IS A DIFFERENT KIND OF EXCITEMENT GROWING, YOUR SENSES BECOME SHARPER, YOU FEEL THE BREEZE BUT IT ONLY IMPROVE THE EXPECTATION, YOU KNOW THAT THE BEAST KNOWS BY NOW THAT YOU ARE THERE, HE KEEPS PATROLLING HIS TERRITORY, THEN ADOLFO SLOWS DOWN, KINKO GOES UP TO THE ROOF START USING HIS ROD WHILE WATCHING THE WAVES, YOUR PLACE IS RIGHT ON THE FRONT PLATFORM OF THE BOAT AND GET READY WHILE ADOLFO PUT TWO TROLLING RODS ON THE BACK, ONE WITH A DOWN RIGGER AND THE OTHER ONE ON THE SURFACE WITH A LIVE GOGGLE EYE, BUT ALWAYS HIS OWN CASTING ROD HANDY, THE BATTLE FIELD IS SET. YOU START THE FIRST SHOTS THE FARTHER YOU CAN IN DIRECTION OF THE BEACH WHERE YOU KNOW HE LIKES TO FEED RIGHT BEHING WHERE WAVES BREAKS, HES IS NOT GONNA COME AFTER YOU ON THE FIRST SHOTS BUT HE IS AWARE THAT YOU ARE HERE AND IS NOT HAPPY, YOU WILL EVENTUALLY SEE SHADOWS FOLLOWING THE POPERS BUT IS NOT AN ATTACK YET, IT WON’T BE EASY., SUDDENLY A BIG SHADOW EMERGE FROM THE BOTTOM OF A BREAKING WAVE AND HE SHOWS UP ATTACKING YOUR POPPER MISSING THE FIRST STRIKE BUT MAKING HIM FURIOUS, YOU CAN SEE HIM CHASING IT UNTIL HE GETS IT BUT IT IS FAR TO FINISH, QUITE THE CONTRARY, THE REAL BATTLE STARTS HERE, YOU SEE HIS FULL LENGTH FLYING OUT OF THE WATER, HANDS ON, HE KNOWS IS TOUCHED AND A MAD RUN TO THE FAR SHORE MAKES YOU THING HE WILL EVEN GET OUT TO THE BAECH AND SEEMS LIKE IT WILL NEVER STOP, THE STRENGH OF YOU REEL, ROD, ARMS AND HART ARE TAKEN TO UNEXPECTED LEVEL, YOU RECOGNIZE IT IS A ONE TO ONE FIGHT WHERE NO ONE IS SUPERIOR, AND THIS WILL GO ON FOR THE NEXT 45 MINUTES OR ONE SECOND IF HE WINS, YOU WILL NEVER SEE HIM AGAIN, IF YOU WIN YOU WILL SEE HIS FURIOUS EYES BUT IT WON’T BE JUST A FISH ANYMORE, BOTH OF YOU ARE EXHAUSTED, ADOLFO BRING HIM UP ON THE BOAT, TAKES AWAY THE JOOK FROM HIS MOUNT AND PRESENT HIS RESPECTS PUTTING A FISH ON HIS MOUNT BEFORE BRINGING HIM BACK TO THE WATER HOLDING HIM ON THE SIDE UNTIL HE RECOVERS AND TAKE OFF BY HIMSELF. WHEN YOU ARE UP TOO AND TAKE YOUR POSITION AGAIN YOU CAN ONLY WISH THAT YOUR NEXT FISH BE SMALLER. THIS CAN CONTINIU OVER AND OVER UNTIL YOU ARE ALL WORN UP.
THE RIDE BACK IS IN SILENCE, YOU ARE TESTING THE TASTE OF VICTORY, YOU CAN RESPECT YOURSELF AS A FISHERMAN. THIS IS THE REASON WHY THE ELITE FISHERMEN FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD COMES TO ZIHUATANEJO.

FISHING REPORT - JUNE.
www.fish-ixtapa.com

MAD ROOSTERS INSHORE AND HUNGRY TUNAS OFFSHORE AT ONLY 06 MILES FROM THE BEACH, IF YOU ARE NOT TIRED YET, SAILS AND MARLINS AT 10 MILES AND UP ARE WAITING FOR YOU. FLOATING DERBIS COMING OUT FROM THE NEARBY RIVERS ARE SETTING THE TABLE FOR DORADOS, IT IS EASY TO HIT THE LOTTERY FINDING AN OLD FLOATING TREE, STAY CLOSE AND PICK THE CASTING ROD TEASING THE DORADOS OR MAKE SOME CHUMP TO GET THE ATTENTION OF SHARKS, IT WILL BE FUN. YELLOW FIN AMONG LARGE SCHOOLS OF OCEANIC TUNA HAVE BEING FEEDING REAL CLOSE FROM THE SHORE AND PROVIDE AND EASY AVARAGE OF 20 PER BOAT A DAY. SAILFISHES AND MARLINS SEEMS LIKE NOT LIKING THIS CROWDS AND STAY BEHIND THE 10 MILES AND UP, MOST BOATS DECIDED TO STAY CLOSE FOR THE SURE BET THAT REPRESENT THE ABUNDANCE OF TUNA.
ROOSTERS ZONES ARE ON IT’S BEST, ADOLFO “ALEMAN” ON HIS SUPER PANGA 2 HERMANOS I, AND HIS DECKMAN(ROOFMAN) “KINKO” REPORT PRIME ROOSTERS TIME AND THIS IS GETTING EVEN BETTER EVERY DAY, PANTLA AREA 35 MILES UP NORTH ZIHUATANEJO SEEM TO BE THE BEST BUT AFTER 3 TO 4 DAYS HE CHANGE SOUTH TO LAS ANTENAS AND VALENTIN BY PETATLAN OR EVEN FARTHER TO PUERTO VICENTE GUERRERO, MOST OF FISH HAS BEEN JOOKED CASTING BY THE CLIENTS ON THE FRONT PLATFORM OF THE BOAT AND FROM THE ROOF BY “KINKO” BUT ADOLFO IS NOT ONLY TROLLING SLOWLY WITH LIVE BAIT BUT HE IS ALWAYS PREST WITH HIS CASTING ROD THAT USES WHEN THE ROOSTERS ARE CHAISING KINKO’S POPER; SO, VERY OFTEN THEY MAKE DOUBLES. THERE IS NOTHING LIKE JOOKING ON A PENCIL POPER A 55 POUNDS MAD ROOSTERS FISH AND THEN FIGHTING IT WITH LIGHT TACKLE. THAT IS THE REASON WHY YOU SEE IN LITTLE ZIHUA, FISHERMEN FROM ALL OVER THE WOLRD, THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN CALL YOURSELF A FISHERMAN WITHOUT FEELING THIS, IF YOU HAVE BEEN THROUT THIS, CONGRATULATIONS, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.

FISHING REPORT - FEBRUARY.
www.fish-ixtapa.com

OFFSHORE IS ON IT’S BEST, MARLINS ARE AGGRESSIVE BAITING MAKING NO DISTINCTION ON BAIT, LURS, DEAD OR LIVE BONITOS, MACKARELS OR GOGGLED EYE, THEY JUST TAKE IT. WEATHER YOU TROLL SLOW FOR THEM OR FASTER FOR SAILFISH THEY WILL GET YOUR BAIT AND KEEP YOU BUSY ON AN UNFORGETABLE BATTLE. THE ACTUAL EXCITEMENT FOR MARLIN PUT SAILFISH ON SECONG CHOICE BUT THEY ARE HERE ALSO IN BIG NUMBER, MAKING EVERY CHARTER A FULL DAY OF ACTION.
INSHORE HAVE BEEN VERY PRODUCTIVE TOO, STILL MANY ROOSTERS HAVE BEEN REPORTED AS WELL AS GREAT ACTION WITH YELLOW TAIL JACKS, GROUPERS AND MORE.

FISHING REPORT - OCTOBER.

This month has been excellent, we are still on the prime time for the king of the In Shore division the Rooster Fish and plenty of them have been caught and more were release, even when June, July & August is prime time for them and you can see the top Fishermen not only from America but Europe and all over the world in Zihua  to have a battle with this warrior, now in September the only difference is that most of those fishermen re gone but the Roosters stayed longer this year, we are lucky to find them all year round but prime time is something you don’t want to miss. Among a few other fishermen that decided to take a chance on September, we can talk about Kevin from Minnesota that caught 9 Rooster and several big Jacks with Adolfo Aleman on the 2 Hermanos super panga. Of course we have a large variety of species for inshore and Jacks, Snooks, Spanish makares, Needle fish and many others can guarantee a day full filled of action.

Off Shore Action, we are on our low season in Ixtapa & Zihuatanejo which means that not many people is in town which makes no difference for Fishing, weather is kind of crazy  which I think is good and bad, I’ll let the Scientifics to tell you why is bad, but the good thing is that in Zihua these last years  currents were favorable for fishing, Zihuatanejo has been recognized for been a fishing paradise but the action has increase a lot, just one small example is that this year we had the longest  Marlin season, we usually find them with some luck all year round increasing the chances on Nov, Dec, Jan, MAR, APR, & May, but this year  prime time started in march and didn’t stop till August, but not only finding them once in a while but you had almost the same chances to find Marlin than finding Sail Fish (which we have plenty). That’s about Marlin but Sail Fish is here all year round some weeks are better that others but you always have a chance, as you may know in Zihua going far or near makes no much difference due to the San Andres fall which provides of deep blue water minutes from the coast. worse scenario now a day in September due to our raining season we are not finding as many Sails as we are used to find in other months, but is not only prime time for Roosters but since the Rivers are bringing trees and vegetation to the sea, now a day every boat going out is coming back with 5 to 15 nice size Dorados (mahimahi) and even once in a while with sails, in Novembers usually things come back to normal and stars Prime time for all Off Shore species.
